National Hospital Chain Chooses Truevance
A national hospital chain which operates nearly 300 hospitals and surgical centers in over 20 states called on Truevance when they needed a large addition to their existing facility in Jacksonville. The project, which included both inside and outside plant, required close coordination with the hospital to insure that there was no disruption to on-going operations and that budgetary and project schedules were achieved.
Installation activity was separated into three components: OSP, ISP and Wireless. For the OSP, Truevance designed and installed an OSP conduit and duct bank. The OSP cable route traversed a critical road on the hospital campus. Truevance chose to do a horizontal road bore which had zero traffic impact versus a more traditional but disruptive open trench. For the ISP, Truevance provided a certified Category 5e structured cabling solution from Belden CDT with a 25 year warranty. Fire and HVAC systems were wired utilizing fiber. Wireless Access Points were strategically placed to provide contiguous coverage throughout the facility.
End result, the project was completed on time and on schedule.
DOD Contractor Chooses Truevance as NMCI Subcontractor
The Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) is a comprehensive, enterprise-wide initiative that will make the full range of network-based information services available to Sailors and Marines for day-to-day activities and in war. When completed, the NMCI will give the Navy and Marine Corps secure universal access to integrated voice, video and data communications. It will afford pier-side connectivity to Navy vessels in port. And it will link more than 360,000 desktops across the United States as well as sites in Puerto Rico, Iceland and Cuba.
After a major DOD contractor was selected as the prime for this highly visible project, it identified and selected regional subcontractors who had a reputation for reliability and performance. As one of these subcontractors, Truevance proposed a Mohawk/Corning fiber solution and was awarded the contract for both the Jacksonville Naval Air Station and Mayport Naval Station. While the scope of work varied between the two campuses, both involved extensive fiber connectivity among numerous buildings (72 on one campus), core drillings and creating end to end fiber channels among the facilities while adhering to a detailed overall loss plan.
