TBW Solutions announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Honeywell Utilities Services to deploy AMI Smart Meters at Florida Power and Light Company customer locations throughout the state of Florida.  This award represents the largest received to date by TBW Solutions and could encompass over 2.0 million smart meters by project completion in 2012. 

The project involves the deployment of GE smart meters and Silver Springs Networks Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI) technology. Florida Power & Light Company, a subsidiary of FPL Group, is the nation's No. 1 utility in energy efficiency programs. GE, a world leader in power generation, distribution, and management technology, will supply key components of the project, which include Smart Meters and may extend to advanced applications and smarter control systems. Silver Spring Networks, a leading provider of networking solutions for the electric grid, will provide field proven, open standards-based, secure wireless network communications.
